My dog shakes uncontrollably when there is a storm, she starts well before the storm hits. I take 1-2 drops of Peace and Calming and 2-3 drops of Lavender oil and rub in my hands. I rub my hands down the muzzle, on her throat and ears. The Peace and Calming works instantly to take the edge off, about 15-20 minutes later the lavender has kicked in and she is relaxed at my feet. Magic is a large 14 year old cat. I use Peppermint on her 5-6 drops per go - they recommend 1-2 for small animals like cats). It has taken 5-6 drops for her to stop perpetually licking her side. Her hair is starting to grow back in. Whatever the digestive challenge is it appears to back off when she gets lots of Peppermint to assist her system. It's a cousin to Cat Nip - both from the mint family, so it's a natural...so to speak.
I'm now using Wintergreen on her too, for her sore legs (also on 16 year old Tatter's arthritic back). She's striding with more ease so that's the scoop here. Thank God for Gary and these wonderful oils. Margie
